The Avant-Garde Tea
Tealeaves, a luxury tea blender for 5-star hotels and Michelin restaurants, required an art direction that reflected its innovative spirit and artistic ethos. The challenge was to move beyond the "expected" grandma-style aesthetic that defined the category, and reposition the brand as a contemporary patron of art and design.
OLD ART DIRECTION
The task was to retain the brand's core connection to nature while infusing it with an avant-garde sensibility. We evolved the visual language from nostalgic watercolors to a bold, organic, and surrealistic style—creating a distinctive identity that is both timeless and forward-looking. By moving away from literal, old-school illustrations, we developed a sophisticated visual language that captures the beauty and artistry of tea.
NEW ART DIRECTION
Aligned with its high-profile partnerships, this new direction delivers the "surprise and delight" of a modern luxury experience. The system introduces bold colors, motion graphics and immersive digital experiences to create a sense of discovery, firmly establishing Tealeaves as a design-led leader in the luxury space.
HOLIDAY PHOTOGRAPHY AND BANNERS
The revitalized art direction attracted prestigious collaboration with brands such as the Pantone Color Institute and the Fantastic Fungi. The new origami packaging caught the attention of luxury clients including the Four Seasons, the Ritz-Carlton, and Bvlgari with its unique, bold, and fully customizable design, which greatly improved the brand's B2B sales.
